Kauma

CCL Manoku

The main objective of the Catholic Church Leadership (CCL) is to train individuals to become missionaries for the Catholic Church across the country. The program, based in Abemama, recruits married couples from all the islands in Kiribati every two years. As a recipient of the UAF 2020-2022 fund, CCL received internet access and a Wi-Fi extension to support students in their studies. The fund also extended Wi-Fi coverage to the nearby Tekatia Primary School, enabling teachers to download necessary resources and communicate with the headquarters in Tarawa.

Kauma

Kauma Adventist High School

Kauma was a proud recipient of the Universal Access Fund (UAF) in 2020. Through this initiative, the school received 20 set of computers, internet access, and a Wi-Fi extension covering the entire school compound. The UAF generously covered the internet bandwidth costs for one year and provided a business model to help the school generate income from its Wi-Fi service. This preparation ensured that Kauma would be ready to manage the project independently after one year when the Communications Commission of Kiribati (CCK) transferred full responsibility to the school.
