The Communications Commission of Kiribati (CCK) requires all telecommunications equipment used in Kiribati to undergo Type Approval certification before it can be imported, sold, or operated within the country.

Accepted Standards

CCK recognizes equipment that complies with international technical standards from the following authorities:

  • ACMA (Australia Communications and Media Authority)
  • CE (European Commission)
  • FCC (Federal Communications Commission - USA)
  • ITU (International Telecommunications Union)

What Requires Approval

All telecommunications products and equipment must comply with Type Approval requirements, including:

  • Radio communication devices
  • Network equipment
  • Consumer wireless products
  • Telecommunications terminal equipment
  • Broadcasting equipment

How to Apply

  1. Submit your application with technical documentation showing compliance with recognized standards
