The Universal Access Program (UAP) has furnished Santa Maria College with comprehensive internet infrastructure, WiFi capabilities, and 20 NComputing devices, equipping students with essential tools for research and academic pursuits. School representatives conveyed their heartfelt gratitude during a combined handover ceremony for both Santa Maria College and Sacred Heart College, which was attended by CCK commissioners and staff members. To ensure long-term sustainability, the Communications Commission of Kiribati is subsidizing the first year of internet bandwidth while implementing an innovative business model allowing the school to generate revenue through WiFi service fees, building financial reserves for self-sufficient operation after CCK's initial support concludes. This technological investment marks a significant advancement in the college's digital learning capabilities, enabling students to access crucial online resources and develop valuable technical competencies.
